A ‘Special Meeting’ of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Vic Inc. has been called and is to be held at Castellos Foresters Arms Hotel, 1529/1533 Dandenong Road, Oakleigh on Tuesday the 13th of August, 2024 at 7.30pm. This meeting will take place prior to the August Committee Meeting.
All financial members are invited to attend and are welcome to join us for dinner prior to the meeting from 6pm.
The sole purpose of this 'Special Meeting' is to vote on one motion as detailed below.
Motion : “That the change to Clause 3 of the Annual Award Conditions made at the last AGM be rescinded effective from the date of the AGM”
Rationale: “This change meant that the first listed person on a dog’s papers “owns” the dog for the purpose of the Clubs Point Score. It means that if a dog lives (e.g. as evidenced through council registration or microchip address) with a second named or subsequently named person and that person is a resident of Victoria and a member of the GSPCV that dog will not be eligible to compete in the Point Score if the first named person is a non-resident of Victoria. This situation is common where a dog is co-owned with a breeder or other person interstate. This motion seeks to correct this anomalous and unintended consequence and allow all dogs owned by (and living with) Victorian resident Members to be able to compete on merit."
